(September 18, 2008) Mom, Dad, Rhian, and I dressed up and attended the Atlanta Track Club's annual awards banquet held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Buckhead. It was a special evening for my mother, Rhian, and I, since we all were receiving what is called "The David Jordan Bunny Award". This award is given to all track club members who enter and complete all of the Grand Prix races put on by the club during the year. It's named after David Jordan, who this year got the award for the 10th straight year. Mom would also go on to get a Grand Prix award for finishing first in the 65-69 age group. For many years, it was Dad who always got the awards at the races and banquets, being that he was a national class runner in his age group while in his 40's and 50's. Despite not getting an award this year, it was a special evening for Dad as well, as he got to see the fruits of his inspiration. It was also a nice evening eating, drinking, and mingling with friends and acquaintances. to view the pictures.
